The perfect prequel to Advent Children! For a PSP game, the graphics for both the actual movie footage and the 3D graphics were definitely up to what I expected from Square Equix. Even if you don't know the Final Fantasy trilogy, this game is a very good way to kill time with many missions and a very interesting story line that will never leave you bored. I recommend this game very highly to everybody.

It was the best buy I made in a long time.I ordered the game online, and was shipped within two weeks-since I ordered a bundle pack-and the casing was neither dented nor ripped. After playing Final Fantasy 7 many years ago, it felt good to play Crisis Core and learn how everything began.

You take on the role of Zack, who's working his way through the ranks of SOLDIER under the watchful eyes of Angeal. Throughout the story, you learn more about some of the protagonists of Final Fantasy 7 including Cloud, Aerith and Sephiroth. Using a newly invented real time battle system and wielding many touching high definition cut scenes, you'd regret not picking up Final Fantasy 7: Crisis Core. If you are looking for a great Final Fantasy, keep looking. If you are interested in the prologue to Final Fantasy VII (arguably the best FF game to date) then this is your game.

It is nice to watch the story unfold but its is extremely lacking. Controls are aweful. For those who remember materia, they are back but the use is limited. You can acquire hundreds of types but can only use 6. Monsters are spawned by walking in an area and then fight ensues, after defeating the mobs, half the time you instantly repop them for a second round. Levels are obtained via a random spinning wheel so look to get 2-3 in 30 seconds or none for hours. Basically this is the typical Square Enix game.

Awesome overall but it has too many flaws to work properly. Doom classic.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII is one of the most well written and voice acted game in the Final Fantasy series.You will be put in the shoes of a SOLDIER 2nd Class, Zack Fair who aims to become a hero. The gameplay is drastically different from most Final Fantasy games because the action style battles with old FFVII materia based skill system and a new feature called DMW (Digital Mind Wave).

It is about 50+ hours long if you do all the missions but only about 15-25 if you go only through the story and some side missions. Most of the side missions are repetitive (It’s literally defeat all the enemies in the area type of mission) but challenging in later ones like the simulation version of Zack (old and new versions) and the goddess Minerva.

Taking place several years before the original one, Midgar and other places are considerably different (ie. Nibelheim). We will also see cameos of comrades and enemies from Final Fantasy VII.

The story of the game is one of the most enjoyable yet sad plots yet. We meet Zack Fair, SOLDIER 2nd Class at the start of the story, a lighthearted, happy-go lucky man. Through his missions we meet old faces like Cloud, Sephiroth and Aerith and new ones who are Angeal and Genesis. We uncover secrets and make relationship with these characters (especially with Aerith and Cloud) which leads to a sad but fulfilling ending with the theme of “Legacy”.

Soundtrack makes the game immersive because there is a musical score that ties a scene or encounter together with top notch voice acting.

This is a PSP classic that mixes action with a great battle system that ties an amazing story in the fray.
