Gearbox Software is no stranger to rereleases of Borderlands games, having brought Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel to Xbox One and other platforms as part of Borderlands: The Handsome Collection in 2015. However, the company didn't stop there, because it just released Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition for consoles. Apparently, it also supports your Xbox 360 saves. You'll just have to play the backward compatible version to bring them over.

Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition wasn't a surprise because the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) — the group that is responsible for rating games in America and other regions — recently posted a new rating for the title. This was confirmation because the ESRB only approves submitted games. For those unfamiliar with the title, Borderlands is a first-person shooter in which players assume the role of a Vault Hunter on a quest to uncover an alien vault on the planet of Pandora. Players explore an open-world environment and interact with characters, while completing mission objectives. Combat missions require players to use futuristic firearms to kill human bandits, alien creatures, and robotic sentries.
